The elegant Erzsébet Hotel is housed in a classical manor estate dating from 1739, set along the banks of the Danube at St. Stephen Square. Lovely spacious room with large comfortable bed with beautifully monogrammed towels and pillowcases. Extra towels and dressing gowns provided for wellness rooms. Bathroom has lots of extra toiletries . Our room had trees shielding the window giving dappled shade. The hotel is set on the edge of the Danube so our room had a river view. The hotel has half board included in the price which included a three course meal(you pay for any drinks) .If more than 15 guests are booked in for the night there is a buffet. Breakfast was again a chance to order from a hot menu when less guests with plenty of things to choose from the cold buffet. The swimming pool is lovely.Parking in courtyard. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Noresa Dekor és Panzió is situated in Szálka, the very heart of the Szekszard Wine Area. Lake Szálka and a beach are set next to the village. Wonderful house in a wonderful village, walking distance to the restaurants and to a convenient place for swimming in the lake. The breakfast was extraordinary, and it was the perfect afternoon and overnight stop on our way further south. A great playground for small kids, too.

Set in Szekszárd, 48 km from Pécs, Hotel Merops Mészáros features a restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property. The staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast was very good as well.

Duna Hotel is located in the centre of Paks and 700 metres away from the Danube River, offering a Finnish sauna, which can be used free of charge, and a 24-hour reception. Breakfast was fine. Location, less than 10 minutes walk from the bus station, and under a half hour walk to the football stadium, Paksi FC, the reason for my visit. Chap at reception wa very helpful with info on how to get to the stadium, and info about the 'village', as he called it.

Hotel Zodiaco is located in the Szekszárd Wine Region, featuring en-suite rooms with free WiFi, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a refrigerator, and a minibar. The room is massive, actually it was more like a suite because the door opened into a kitchen area which contained a sink, stove, microwave and fridge. Next was the bedroom which led into the passage with the bathroom at the end. The bedroom has working air conditioning which is essential at this time of year.

Set in the residential area of Bonyhád, 20 km from the M6 Highway and 40 km from Pécs, Hotel Rittinger offers rooms with private bathroom and an on-site restaurant. Very nice and helpful staff. Excellent customer service. Clean and tidy.

Fried Castle Hotel and Restaurant in Simontornya, 40 km east of the famous Balaton Lake, is set amid vineyards and features an own winery, a French park, and outdoor pool, a children's playground and... Excellent beautiful scenery! Perfect location, close to the Ozora festival. Good breakfast and dinner. You get picked up from the train station!
