A Grade II Listed building, The Bird in Hand offers modern rooms in a traditional setting. The rooms have plasma-screen TVs and there is free Wi-Fi in the all areas. Very welcoming family owned hotel with an excellent restaurant that serves good food throughout the day, whether it is breakfast, lunch or diner. Every member of the staff is as friendly as the owners. One of my favorite places to stay. Even if it is for business that I stayed here, I would definitely return with my family when in the area.

It ticked all the boxes: the staff were friendly and attentive, and very caring when our 6yo boy became unwell; we loved our comfy, spacious, room and the clean, bright bathroom; the whole dining experience at dinner and breakfast, the beautiful lounge area with open fire and couches. This was our favourite stay during our UK trip and will remain on our favourites list.

The plus, for us dog lovers, was encountering other guests who were staying with their beautiful dogs in the various dog-friendly rooms available. Congrats to the GM and all his team for creating such a delightful atmosphere - thank you for a wonderful stay. I look forward to visiting again soon.
