Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

One of the best hotels I stayed in ! The location is excellent: 800 meters from the railway & bus station, the first line on the ocean. Also, there are a few bike-sharing stations nearby. The views are incredible from each direction, and it would be the ocean or castles. The photo of the view from my window is attached :) The staff is great and very friendly. They speak English well, so it was exciting to talk with them. Sometimes, when I had special requests, they helped me kindly & quickly. I want to say thanks to all of you one more time for the warm & lovely atmosphere ! There is good WiFi here, so when I needed to work one day, it was easy and comfortable. Breakfasts were tasty and large.

Hôtel Le Sénéchal is located in the heart of Ars-en-Ré, next to Ars-en-Ré Port and 2 km from Combe À L'eau Beach. This is a kooky hotel! Beautiful courtyards with lots of sitting areas amongst the flowering plants. The rooms are all different, comfortable and very attractive. The staff are very helpful. It was lovely coming in summer, now I’d like to return in a cooler month to use the fireplace in the room! Plenty of wardrobe / shelving space. Nice little pool and decking area.

Located in Champdolent, 31 km from Saintes Train Station, Chateau De Champdolent provides accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a garden. Chateau du Champdolent was a charming, charming place in the middle of French farmlands with a super kind host. This was one of our favorite places we stayed at in France. The building itself has an incredible history dating back to the 15th century with links to the royal family. Dominique’s meticulous restoration has saved all of the old beauty while making the space modern and comfortable. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom huge with an extra-long bathtub. The breakfast was very delicious and beautifully presented. It was definitely the best breakfast of our entire trip! Free and spacious parking was very welcome. After the hustle and bustle of the cities, Champdolent was a wonderful way to decompress and take in the quiet and beautiful countryside. We highly recommend this Chateau!

This hotel is situated in its own Mediterranean-style gardens on Oleron Island. It offers a heated swimming pool and is just 900 metres from beaches on the French Atlantic coast. The accommodation was excellent and the beds very comfortable. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good and always being topped up. We often had the pool to ourselves and there were plenty of sun beds available. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
