Location was few km out of bayeux, we traveled by bike which was doable. The greatest of our stay, is that we really needed a room a few days later (we went on a round trip from bayeux by bike) and they offered us a to park our car there for the entire trip. Likewise, they also offered us one of their rooms when they were fully booked with a wedding on their beautiful domain. We got a room in their other part of the domain; I think among their own quarters (which was great because we were exhausted). They gave us a nice quick breakfast for on the road. I would really recommend these guys. Lovely couple, working really hard to achieve the 'a good year' dream. Breakfast was great btw with a bunch of homemade and local stuff.

Hotel la piscine has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Villers-sur-Mer. During our long first week-end trip with our 1,5 year toddler in a hotel, we were lucky to stay in a place where everybody feels welcome and can feel comfortable. The entire place was spotless clean so our little one could walk around without any issue. During 4 days we met great people, young and older couples, families. The owners and staff went above and beyond to help. This place is super inclusive and chill. We didn't use the pool but it looked perfect and the water was not cold at all ! There was also a sauna and petanque field. Games and books were available downstairs. All the time there was some good music playing on the terrace. We had dinner every night downstairs while our toddler was sleeping: tapas, amazing paella, tapas and planche, barbecue. And a new barman makes the most amazing, large and loaded cocktails. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment is well organised. The little kitchen came in handy. Everything was no nonsense but super comfortable into the details. This place is a hidden gem! They spoke English, were always there to assist with a smile, and made sure we felt at home. It was nice that the restaurant and bar were reserved for hotel guests that their friends only. The menu offered enough choice and the food was delicious. Manoir Hastings was a quiet retreat during the hussle and bussle of the 80th anniversary of D-Day celebrations, but allowed us to be in the middle of it all. We even walked the path along the river all the way to Ouistreham. The private gardens were beautiful as well. We would love to stay here again, and will definitely recommend it to friends.
