Kosrae Nautilus Resort offers accommodations 5 minutes' drive from Tofol city center. The resort has an outdoor pool and features views of the sea. This hotel is one of the best encountered so far across 5 islands visited. This is made better because of Aussie owner Josh, who is so helpful, takes you to see sites or arranges local tours. Staff are friendly, on site restaurant great and a wonderful pool to refresh in. Super clean and light airy rooms. We didn't snorkel in the blue pool as the tide was high and sea choppy. The island is very natural, with little development.
Returned to Kosrae after being a teacher there in the early 70's. Already knew some folks on the island so spent time with them, Took a day trip to Walung which was one of the high points. Bully's restaurant was the most relaxing restaurant I've ever been in. The food was great.Didn't go diving but would have if I had been a little younger. Staff were the best I have ever encountered and I live in Hawaii which depends on tourists for our livelihood.I will return even though getting to Kosrae isn't easy and costs too much for airfare. Taxi rides are too cheap and wonder how the drivers can survive. Also ate at the Nautilus but preferred Bully's.
