Situated in Castro, 2.5 km from Sabanilla Beach, Meular Chiloe features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. 100 Points for Gloria and Jose-Louis. They were wonderful hosts. We arrived late and tired and were able to order a delicious soup and salad meal on short notice. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and stylish (and of course clean). The private hot tub, looking out over the trees was great. Breakfast by the fire was a great start to the day. We got a great tip where to eat out on the next night and had one of the best meals of our trip. On our last day Gloria took us on an excursion to Dalcahue and then to Parque Meular, which is not even open to the public yet. It was a priviledge. We also enjoyed talking to Gloria and Jose-Louis late into the night to discover the similarities and differences between Germany and Chile and many other topics. WE fehlt totally at home.

Located in Chiloe, Refugio Pallao offers accommodation 15 km from Castro. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast with local products. Our three night stay was wonderful. The staff was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The setting was beautiful, with abundant birdlife and scenery. The breakfast one of the best we’ve had anywhere, and we did eat at their restaurant two nights and food was excellent. It is a little outside of the main road, but we easily made several day trips and great to come back in the evening to a true Refugio. I would say a car is necessary for this stay.
