The Oceanfront Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Sointula

Boasting panoramic sea views, this beachfront property is located on Malcolm Island just 100 m from Sointula ferry terminal. Free WiFi is offered in all areas. I loved the room with all its coziness and outdoor deck with blankies. I so appreciated all the comfort from the owners as well. I was grieving and they took their personal time to acknowledge that and comfort and pray for me. I shall be forever grateful. Thx ever so much.

Nimpkish Hotel

Alert Bay

Nimpkish Hotel is located on the beachfront in Alert Bay, Cormorant Island. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. The Nimpkish Hotel is located in Alert Bay, a beautiful small village on Cormorant Island, reachable by ferry from Port McNeill. It is the home of several Namgis people, and it hosts many beautiful Totems and natives houses, as well as an important museum at the U'mista Cultural Centre. The Nimpkish Hotel is very close to the town centre and to the BC Ferry dock (about 1km). The staff is very friendly, and at the restaurant you can have very good and fresh fish. If the weather is nice, you can also enjoy stunning views of the bay from their patio. Breakfast is self served, but they already prepare everything for you in the kitchen, so you just have to pick up what you want :) and the view from the breakfast is again great, especially in the early morning (e.g. at Sunrise).if you can, take the opportunity also to try the Whale Watching Tour with Seasmoke Whale Watching, whose boat departs a few hundred metres from the hotel.

Frigon Suite -Waterfront

Port Alice

Located in Port Alice in the Vancouver Island region, Frigon Suite -Waterfront has a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. We spent three weeks traveling around Canada, and this was one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we stayed. Additionally, the internet was super fast and available around the entire property, including the garden. Johan was extremely nice and gave us some wild salmon to cook on the BBQ since the local grocery store does not sell fresh fish. Paula's breakfast was delicious. If we ever return to Vancouver Island, we will definitely come back to stay at the Frigon Suite in Port Alice.

Orca Lodge

Sointula

Accessible by a ferry from Port McNeil, Orca Lodge is located in the village of Sointula, on Malcolm Island, British Columbia. The suite dubbed "stand-alone" was ideal for me. I was mesmerized as just how close to the water that the deck was - I could hear waves lapping on the rocks with the sliding door closed. The queen bed was clean and comfortable and the suite well-equipped. An updated hot plate negated any real need for a stove - there isn't space for one anyway. Full washroom. Good enough internet and a great TV. A useful selection of literature weeks before your stay re:suggested hikes etc. is easily accessed. Your Host is very responsive and will send you a text with tips. ie. Bikes for rent locally and how to utilize the ferry strategically and cheaply. I had 6 sailings for a grand total of $11.60. ie. Any travel between islands is technically free. And, ... the drinking water is just fine. A 700 m (10 minute walk to Burger Barn - a local favourite) With planning, flexibility, and maybe good luck, you can quickly slow down - shrug your shoulders - the fog will lift. Become an islander.
