The view at the top where I could enjoy the clean and fresh water of the swimming pool is superb. Breakfast is delicious with plenty of pastries, you could ask lovely ladies for the eggs how you like them. Excellent juices, rice pudding, yoghurt, cereals and wonderful famous Brazilian cheese bread. We have enjoyed a ride on the panoramic lift offering the view of Sao lourenco Church and a lovely neighbourhood

The only thing you might want to travel to BH is to visit Inhotim, or to use it as a stopover before further trips to Ouro Preto, Tiradentes or other places of Minas Gerais.
The Mercado central (indoor market) is a must! It caters for everything and the atmosphere is fantastic. From fresh food including fish to restaurants (casa cheio - one of my best experiences of lunchtime eating with a very good budget price!). You can easily spend 3-4 hours walking around seeing all the local produce and goods produced in the Minas Gerais region.
I know Tiradentes about four decades, when the city was in ruins. I closely followed the restoration, the growth of the city and the transformation in tourist pole. But I always loved looking at the old houses, the cathedral, the Serra de São Jose (the hills) and the museums.I really like the Minas Gerais' culinary and to walk in the cobblestone streets.....Unfortunately it is not possible to go by plane to Tiradentes; there is only bus to the nearby city São João del Rei. By car, a lot of attention on the narrow road.
Lovely colonial city with rich heritage and kind people. As the first and former capital of the state of Minas Gerais, Mariana is easily accessible and well-worth your time and energy. Ouro Preto is only 12 km away and is a World Heritage site. Mariana has the same history and heritage but is much smaller--the prices for restaurants and accommodation are about half as much as Ouro Preto . . .
Only minus of the city (and also other small cities in Minas Gerais) is that I couldn't exchange euro. The same applies for dollar.
Serra do Cipó is a gem hidden in the heart of Minas Gerais, if you are looking for a chance to be with nature. There is opportunity to go to the river and swim for the dayor you can go on a hike to beautiful views with waterfalls as your destination. There are also opportunities to horseback ride or rent bicycles for the day. Be sure to bring hats and WATERPROOF sunscreen, bug spray and waterbottles as the equatorial heat can catch you off guard. At the end of the day there are several restaurants to choose from to have a relaxing meal. Our favorite was Tipo Do Sol.
An old City where you will be in touch with the Portuguese culture from the 19th Century, but with the attention the people of Minas Gerais State have with tourists. Amazing food, old places to know, an excellent coffee, and lots of churches and history. It's a cool place as you'll see ancients and students sharing the places all around. Students come from the Federal University installed in the city. There are other amazing cities around where you can also appreciate the beauty of the nature, water falls and more.

En esta ciudad y otras de la zona - Mariana y Congonhas do Campo por ejemplo- se encuentran las mejores obras del "barroco mineiro" (de Minas Gerais). Cada iglesia tiene un encanto especial y su historia. Hay buenos restaurants y salas de té con rica pastelería. Se puede caminar por toda la ciudad, sin embargo hay subidas y bajadas pronunciadas. Puede ser conveniente alquilar un coche por medio día para recorrer las zonas más altas. Yo lo alquilé por un día completo y tb pude visitar Congonhas. ¡No hay que perderse las obras del Aleijadihno!!!
Busy, but lovely city in the Brazilian Highland. Capital of Minas Gerais. Minas' cuisine is considered one of the best of Brazil. Lots of good places to prove allover the city. Central Market is a great place for a first experience. Many museums, lovely parks and squares. Don't miss Pampulha and the many buildings of famous Oscar Niemeyer!
Ouro Preto
This was our favourite place we stayed in Minas Gerais, and it is because of the brilliant owners and their team. Simply the friendliest and most helpful place we have been in Brazil, with tips on where to go and what to see, an amazing breakfast, beautifully presented, with an option to be served in a stand alone conservatory area or in your room, and an ideal location just outside of Ouro Preto but easy to get into town when you want to. Our children were so looked after and happy, could not ask for more. We'll be back!

Nice view and pool. Cleanliness is good. Breakfast is good. The bed was comfortable and the shower is nice and hot. It is a bit outside the city, which worked well for us, because we left the car there and got a taxi/PamPam (the local Uber) for R$15-20 every time we needed to go to the tourist centre of town and didn't need to navigate the narrow and busy streets ourselves by car.

Beautiful place with kind hosts! you’re going to live in a fairly land surrounded by green. The room/bungalow is beautiful and well equipped. the fact that you have a fireplace at your bed feet makes it very charming, cozy and romantic. Anything we needed Fabrício (host) helped us. The breakfast is authentic and fantastic, could not expect anything better. thanks!
