Small and quiet city, 12 km away from Veliko Tarnovo, no options for fun or restaurants but the hotel Svetitsata is a good choice for a relaxing weekend, outside the city and with fun at the outside swimming pool.
Small picturesque village overlooking Veliko Tarnovo and an excellent place to relax (if you book the right hotel). Many opportunities to explore local history just a short distance away. The food in the taverns we visited was authentic, affordable and delicious. If you are traveling to the Black sea it is an excellent place to spend couple of days.
The city of Lyaskovets itself is not very interesting, but the surrounding area has a lot to see, such as the city of Veliko Tarnovo and the Arbanassi village. There are numerous monasteries in the area. Veliko Tarnovo has some very nice restaurants. Our accomodation in Lyaskovets (Guest House Epochs since 1871) was excellent!
Arbanasi is a touristic village. Each house is enclosed in stone fence. The views towards Veliko Tarnovo are very nice.
Veliko Tarnovo is a fantastic town, we allways feel very well in this town; it is a city of arts, a quiet location and with many points of interest.
I like the place. It was so calm and it is very close to the city Veliko Tarnovo. I didn't like the restaurants. The staff was very bad. Rhey were slowly and rude.
When the carefull for traditional values meet a splendor of snow and a shinny days, what else you need for holiday? Without unnecessary sofisticated approach, Arbanasi is well conserved, splendid houses and views, surrounded by old monastery, quiet woods, nearthe town of Veliko Tarnovo.
Well, I wasn't actually visiting Lyaskovets, I visited Veliko Tarnovo and nearby natural attractions. But, Lyaskovets is somewhere like 8km away from Veliko, and since all the rooms were booked there, it was the perfect choice for a good night sleep.
The village of Arbanasi is one of the oldest picturesque villages in Bulgaria. It is located on a stone plate of the same name, only 4 km north-east of the city. Veliko Tarnovo. With a monumental and unique renaissance architecture of the sec. XVI-XVII of houses and churches, with a great wealth of nature, Arbanasi is really a paradise for tourists. Fortress Houses impress with their harsh appearance and high stone fences, creating a strong contrast with the beautiful courtyards, the unique ambiance and the comfort of the interior. The ceilings, doors, furniture and windows are embellished with wooden engravers and the walls are decorated with gypsum elements And painted with flowers. In the village are 5 churches and 2 monasteries, built at the end of the 19th century. 16th and early sec. 17th century. Almost devoid of exterior beauty, churches inside are painted with icons and decorated with wooden engravers and beautiful paintings. In Arbanasi there are 80 maintained houses, of which 36 are monuments of national culture. . The splendor of the village of Arbanasi today reminds the many buildings of dwelling and worship, traditions and customs related to everyday life and culture of the old inhabitants of the village.
One of the most incredible places in Bulgaria. You have many things to see and many places to visit in 2-3 days - starting with Samovodskata Charshia, Tsarevets Fortress and every single street. It is calm, but in the same time Veliko Tarnovo is suitable for young people who want to explore during the day and enjoy pleasant summer nights around the Asenevtsi monument. Although I recommend visiting Tarnovo during spring or autumn. Summer daya here are really hot.
