Set in Brussels, 1.1 km from Horta Museum, L-Avenue offers accommodation with a fitness centre, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Nice, modern and quiet room with fully equipped kitchen corner (nespresso with few capsules, electric kettle, oven, hob, dishes, etc) what was a nice surprise as it wasnt mentioned in a description of a room. Everything perfectly clean. We also used underground parking. We didnt have breakfast but you can order it additionally.The staff very nice and helpful. Maximally satisfied.

Housed in a classified Art Nouveau building dating from 1906, Maison Flagey Brussels is located in Ixelles, next to the two ponds in Flagey. The Maison flagey is a beautiful building in a neighbourhood of beautiful buildings it stands out. From the front steps you look out onto a lovely pond. On the night we arrived our flight had been delayed 3 hours and we were running late, my phone wouldn't work however the owner was very accommodating. He really made the stay great with a lovely smile and a hello when he sees you, recommending places to eat or drink and nothing seemed like it would be too much hassle. I've been to guesthouses before and when I arrive I'm usually given a large list of rules however this was not like that. He asked that the key be left at the property when we left (the building is secure), gave me the WiFi password and that was that. The rooms itself was large, a nice airy balcony and a comfy bed. The shower was lovely and warm and the facilities were more than fantastic. The area around the guesthouse is worth exploring, close to a large park, a walk around the pond is romantic and down towards the square there are plenty of places to eat and drink.

Set right in Brussels city centre, Made in Catherine is located on St. Catherine Square, and just a 10-minute walk from the Grand-Place. The accommodation offers free WiFi. We stayed here for the Christmas markets. The hotel was in a perfect location, you only had to step outside the front door to reach the markets. The hotel was in walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Brussels. All staff members were really friendly and helpful.

Brussels is the city where expats are coming to live for a couple of years and end up living there forever (18 years in my case). As for every city, not every place is worth seeing and some areas are better left out of our roadmap but there's also tons of streets, places, restaurants and people to enjoy. Prefer the south - north east part of the inner city but also don't limit yourself to the inner city, go past the "petite ceinture" and go spend some time in Ixelles, Uccle and so many other of the communes that are part of the Brussels region. The city is small enough to rely on walking and trams exclusively.
