I was very pleasantly surprised - this property exceeded my expectations and was one of the best value-for-money propositions during my travels over 2 weeks (& 8 different hotels/properties) in northern Spain. I only regretted my short stay didn't allow me opportunity to use the amazing swimming pool on the roof.

Clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped apartment. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Highly recommended.

Situated in Bilbao, 200 metres from Arriaga Theatre, Hotel Tayko Bilbao was built in 1924. The property is within just 0.2 km of Catedral de Santiago and 15 minutes' walk from Guggenheim Museum. The hotel team was very friendly and helpful for every request. There were also nice personal touches which came as a nice surprise (for example handwritten welcome letter written in the language of my national card as well as a note on my birthday although I didn't specifically mention to the team I was celebrating my birthday). The hotel is also in a great location and the room and amenities were high end but without creating a stuffy atmosphere. I would definitely come back to this hotel next time I go to Bilbao.

Pensión Sarriegi offers accommodation in San Sebastián. Rooms come with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. Rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. Great location. Right in the middle of Old Town and close to most of the famous pintxos bars.

This restored 13th-century tower is located in Oñati, 30 minutes’ drive from Vitoria. Beautifully appointed room and great staff.

This small hotel is located in a quiet area just 1.5 km from Playa de Orio Beach and offers free WiFi throughout, a sun terrace and a garden. The staff were very attentive to our 6-year-old and even gave him a stuffy toy which he has cherished every since. The breakfast was very good with a lot of attention to detail, such as a lovely shark mug for the hot chocolate.

Set on the Bay of Biscay and surrounded by mountains, the Higueralde guest house is located 15-minutes’ walk from the beach. It offers rooms with central heating and free Wi-Fi. Amazing views and a fantastic breakfast experience overlooking the sea
