Absolutely beautiful property and location. The hotel feels luxurious and peaceful, with fantastic views and high quality finishes. The staff were very attentive and common areas (in addition to individual rooms) were quite comfortable.

This is the kind of place why we travel and sometimes go that extra mile. We booked very last minute (an hour in advance) but the welcome wasn't any less warm or generous. After dragging our bikes up, Kamal and his wife took the time to welcome us over some tea and share some stories about our travels and themselves.
Note that the room with separate beds is no longer available, but this was solved in a pleasant way. And very important in January, it was warm inside!(!)
Even though we didn't mention it beforehand, we got a place to store our bikes overnight, which we really appreciate.
The area is calm (pedestrian), view from the roof terrace is beautiful; in warmer times the tasty homemade breakfast is served there. There are some groceries and (street) food options within walking distance.
In short: a bit higher on the price than average, but nevertheless a guest home we highly recommend.

The staff was very welcoming and supportive. The check in at 1 am was fast, which was nice after a long flight.
There was an issue with my room and the staff immediately helped me out with that. He even helped me to get a taxi to my next place!

The garden and pool area is very large and has hammocks. The staff is very polite and attentive. At any time at your service. Spacious parking for several cars. Unbeatable location. The view and location is incredible. The staff is super friendly and helpfull and goes above and beyond to make your stay good. Its a hidden gem, like someone took a hotel from Bali and moved to Fes. The photos dont do it justice.
This is an ideal location if you do not want to stay in Fes. It is a quiet, hilltop town about 20 mins to the south. Kamal was away, but kept in close contact with us to make sure we could find the property. His wife, Jalila is a perfect host and an excellent cook - the 4 course meal was delicious and really worth having. We even wanted a recipe from her. Breakfast can be had on the terrace from where you look over the town and see Fes in the distance. A delightful stay.
Beautiful cave house with amazing decoration- could look at all the rugs and ceramics and paintings forever! The hosts were really friendly and helpful, I don’t speak French but still they managed to communicate with me. It had a really nice communal feeling, as another family was staying and we had a delicious dinner and breakfast together and played cards! Highly recommend :)
Dar el Mandar was our favourite stay in Morocco. I wish we had stayed here longer. The whole experience was incredible: the friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, the beautiful architecture and grounds, the stunning view, the deliciously fresh food. Although the staff spoke mainly French, there was no issue and they were eager to work things out. We truly loved our stay here and would come back just for this location. Thank you to the whole team.
Great location, stunning view by the terrace. delicious breakfast. Friendly and really knowledgeable host Kamal. He gave us lots of useful and practical info on how to travel in Morocco. Kamal is a proper city insider and knows a lot about Moroccan culture and history and thanks to his experiences abroad he possesses great communication skills.
