Being met by the owner on arrival. Very easu access to the room we had. Car parking on site at no cost. A lovely country view from our room. Very peacfull and quiet location but easy to get to from the main road. Now the very best part. We ordered breakfast on arrival for the next day and were informed that it would be served in our room within the breakfast time slot and picked a set time. In the room is a small table and chairs right by the window with a great view. The next morning the owner brought breakfast on a lovely trolley and we sat and had breakfast in peace and quiet. The breakfast was lovely certainly enough to start the day well. By the way an evening meal is available also served in the room but must be ordered the day before arrival, they send you a menu at time of booking for breakfast and dinner. Good selection.
The room is very nicely decorated, very clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom very nice. We have already planned another visit next year !!!

The lodge was a dream getaway! In the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but openness and nature. The lodge itself is huge, so warm and extremely cosy! We honestly fell in love as a family. Couldn't fault this hotel - everything about it was great. The room, the food, etc. The staff are fantastic - so friendly and helpful. The location is great - just by the river and so ideal for walking our dog. And yes they are totally dog friendly.
There is so much attention to detail and making sure the guest is happy and comfortable. I also like the fact that they have real plants and not artificial ones.
Would recommend to anyone.
Great location and dog friendly. The staff are friendly and professional. The lodges are simply amazing! The rooms are a good size, kitchen area is equipped with essentials (not food), the bathrooms are beautiful and the log burner is a terrific addition that makes for a very cosy night in. The shops and cafés are good too. A short walk to the Seaview Hotel where they serve wonderful food and have some terrific single malts along with all usual drinks.
From start to finish it was just so lovely and excellent food , plus pet treats for the dog and netflix for kids .Just dream stay and all staff always smiley and friendly .highly recommend
Firstly, you won't get a better welcome than that from Catherine and hopefully this review doesn't put you off staying here. If you are looking for a modern Premier Inn then this is not for you. The building is very old and needs some updating which the owners are doing over time. The building is steeped with history and you can see how magnificent the building has been. The friendliness and welcoming from the owners is a 10 out of 10. Excellent breakfast. A very dog friendly B&B.

Great location in john o groat’s overlooking the sea. Just beautiful. A 5min walk to 8 doors distillery and shops. Very Modern studio apartment with everything that you need eg, iron, hairdryer, cooking utilities, plus extras like salt/pepper, tea,coffee, toilet rolls. Room very clean couldn’t fault it. Staff very friendly. pet friendly. Would highly recommend.
We wanted a convenient, dog-friendly and comfortable stop-over en route to Orkney - the hotel gave us all of that, with really friendly and efficient service too. Although all the pet-friendly rooms are on the ground floor, and our two rooms looked out across the car park to the small road and river, it was a super-peaceful night's rest for us all. We also ate at the restaurant and were more than happy with our meals and the service there too.
