The staff are all so friendly and pleasant; that includes reception to the waiting staff at breakfast. 😁
Our breakfast was great. Plenty of choice and enjoyed my coffee too.

A charming authentic pub with a lovely coal fire to add to the feel. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. There was a good selection of hearty pub food and the morning breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The owner came over while we were in the bar to welcome us and have a chat which was lovely.

what can I say, Pete the host couldn't do enough for us all. He was friendly and so nice. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and the beds are very comfortable. I have MND and my speech wasn't very good but Pete was so kind and helpful. The breakfast was all good quality food and very tasty. All homemade bread which was delicious as was the banana bread and Greek yogurt and oaks. I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Thank you Pete for being a fantastic host, kind, caring and very thoughtful.
Affordable Luxury1 New apartment in Sunderland is located in Sunderland, just 2.2 miles from Stadium of Light and 11 miles from Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
Offering a variety of animal-ready amenities, these properties promise a great stay for pets and people. Services can include sitting services, specialized bedding, and dog-walking. Some hotels even offer fun perks like a gourmet room service menu for pets, as well as catnip and scratching posts.
I stayed for a night with my dog, and it was really well suited to pets. The dog friendly rooms seem to be on the lower floors - close to a back door that allows access to large grounds, which are perfect for letting your dog stretch their legs and do a pee. The room was a good size, with air conditioning, ample parking, and access to room service (perfect if you’re travelling solo with your pet).
Arrival and check in was easy; room was comfortable if a little basic - but this was expected at this end of the budget. It was certainly clean and spacious.
Evening meal was fine, the breakfast was good - highly impressed with the poached eggs which came perfectly cooked with no taste of vinegar (a problem I've found in much more expensive establishments).
Good space for the dog, nice touch with the poo bags and good to see a pet-friendly section of the restaurant.
We have a small dog and so used this a few times as it's dog friendly, always find it reasonably priced with a nice cooked breakfast if you choose to have that. We'll located for the A1 North or South.. Comfortable beds.. Definitely nothing fancy about this, but for those travelling with dogs, a nice option.
The staff, location and the fact that it is pet friendly are the main drawing points for choosing this hotel. The restaurant, room service and WiFi are also big bonuses.
