We were 3 friends looking for a traditional English pub in a small village to stay at near to a few local golf courses to try. The Benett Arms in Semley did not disappoint. Great staff, location and a lovey pub with very comfortable rooms/ The food and drink was excellent with a lovely outdoor space to watch the locals (including a donkey) go by. Recommend the local fresh milkshake dispenser and farm shop. We will be back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located in a beautiful area of England.. Their claim to be dog friendly was exceeded wirth the provision of a "doggy" welcoming box - and the absence of a long list of canine regulatons.
It was a great location for us. We arrived after midnight, as we were coming in by Ferry from Poole. A key was left for us with clear instructions. The GH is pet friendly, so that was a bonus as we were travelling with our dog.

Good location, very convenient, central but very quiet after nearby cafe closed at 11pm. Easy walk to shops and points of interest. Loved Shaftesbury. Great to have parking. (Pity another car was parked inconsiderately). Dog-friendly. Good to have a wine cooler. Nice washing machine.
