White Lion, hotel in Rochdale

Set in Hebden Bridge and with Victoria Theatre reachable within 12 km, White Lion offers a terrace, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

The White Lion is a lovely old property on the banks of the river and only 5 minutes walk from the town centre and The Trades Club. Our room, no 7 was in the courtyard with its own private entrance and was very nicely decorated and furnished. We particularly liked the little vestibule for hanging up coats, the very well-stocked basket of teas, coffees, milks and biscuits, the big fluffy towels and free toiletries, and the low, soft but very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and there was a good range of options for breakfast, all very well cooked. A lovely place that we will definitely return to if we go to The Trades Club again.

Quiet location in farming area. Room was comfortable and warm but, had the weather been hot, lacked adequate ventilation unless the door and window were left unsecured at night.

We chose a deluxe room and did not regret it. Four poster bed, good sized television, new carpet, well decorated with nice furniture. The room was very clean and tidy. The staff were extremely accommodating, the room had no bedside lamp but on request one was found for me. Do yourself a favour and walk down in to Asda through the park. The hotel is in a stunning location on top of a hill and this is the best way to appreciate it. Its very atmospheric at night. Full English was included in the price and was well cooked.

Individual style hotel. Decor has seen better days but does not detract from the hotel and the comfort of the stay. It was easy to find, park, and check in. The room was plain but vert warm and comfortable. The location is lovely and really quiet on the park side. Very good and quickly served breakfast included in the price, which was already very competitive. Staff were friendly and competent.
