Duisdale House Hotel, hotel in Mallaig

Duisdale House Hotel is a luxury, award winning, family run boutique hotel on Skye’s southern Sleat Peninsular.

The staff were friendly and approachable. Gwen, in particular, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, providing valuable guidance on places to visit and things to do. The lodge itself was cosy and well-maintained, and the hot tub was a nice addition—though the 30-minute usage limit was somewhat restrictive. The food was tasty - though overpriced.

Lochailort Inn, hotel in Mallaig

Situated in Lochailort and with Glenfinnan Station Museum reachable within 16 km, Lochailort Inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

The breakfast was very good and the hotel was perfectly adequate. Nothing wrong with it, but perhaps a little pricey for what it was, which was fairly ordinary. Could have done with a surface for toiletries in the bathroom. But the outstanding thing was the dinner - the fish was unbelievably fresh and immaculately cooked and my partner was in heaven over the venison burger!

Harbor and sea views from our room. Friendly staff. Perfect location for trains and ferries. Dog friendly. The kitchen area with cooking facilities were a plus. Affordable given its in central Mallaig where there's generally a shortage of (overpriced) accommodation.
