Kacey could not be a more accommodating host. She also prepared great meals for dinner and breakfast and was able to accommodate all special dietary request for our group. To top it off her entire facility is extremely eco conscious. I would highly recommend the Burnside Cottage.

We absolutely loved this place! It was very clean and it had all the dishes in the kitchen we needed to make our own meals. The beds were very comfortable.
It is a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place!

The house was spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean and the facilities were clean and in good working order. The location was fabulous, 20 minutes' walk from John O'Groats, and 10 minutes from the seashore, a beautiful rocky beach. The landlady was lovely and kind, very responsive. The field just outside had a rare breed herd of sheep with the cutest lambs we were allowed to help bottle feed and pet (field rented by another farmer, also lovely).
Place had very comfy beds and all our basic needs for fridge and bathroom were met.
The day we stayed, it was only us at the hostel, so it was very quiet and we had the bathroom all to ourselves.
Gordon, the host was really lovely and friendly, he made sure the heating was on prior to our arrival as it was raining cats and dogs out there.
PS.: place is very easy to find - no need to run around and find off beaten paths.
The location was ideal to be able to explore the area. The views from my room were great.

Breakfast had a nice selection of things and freshly made bread! Host was lovely. It was nice to see the animals in the petting farm and hear about their stories. The location is wonderful,but we were so lucky with the weather!
Perfect location, lovely host, big spacious rooms, very comfy beds, could enter the petting farm as many times as you liked! We had a great stay! Also had a lovely dinner at the seaview hotel.
Gordon was the perfect host. Friendly and kind and informational about the area. The bathroom was fantastic, and the breakfast was amazing, So much choice. The room had a lovely view and the dog who i believe is called Ellie was gorgeous. Overall a very good atmosphere. A wonderful end to our NC500 journey. I cannot say enough about how great hamnavoe is. Especially when greeted by a cat outside the window in the morning
Clean and comfortable, dog friendly, with good facilities at a reasonable price and views over the pentland Firth.
Where hamnavoe comes Into its own though is through the warm hospitality that greets you and continues throughout your stay.
Thoroughly recommended, we'll definitely be back!
