Set in a beautiful location, this unique property is undergoing renovation which is ongoing and has been done very tastefully. The room is spacious, yet cosy with a big comfy bed. The host was very welcoming with great communication beforehand and very helpful during my stay. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. I ate in the Great Hall which is fabulous, but you can have it delivered to your room if you prefer. Good wifi which was important as I stayed here in a work trip, no issues streaming or accessing my work files.

What a beautiful and quirky place to stay. We chose the property due to location on the way back to England from Cairnryan. Dog friendly which is a big bonus.
The property and grounds are beautiful.
We loved the decor of our room and the huge comfortable bed. It was beautifully quiet overnight and warm too, which surprised us, given the historic nature of the property.
We chose a continental breakfast which came with loads of pastries.
Overall, a fabulous overnight and so special compared to most bnb options.

A very well-appointed lodge in a great location. Clean, comfortable and perfect for family or friend group. We had great fun with the giant TV. Ideal for dogs. Great walking nearby.(Kippford Reserve dog friendly) Kippford and its 2 dog friendly pubs are only a ten minute walk. Easy jump in car to Dalbeattie for groceries and Castle Douglas a lovely place to potter.
Beautifully decorated rooms. Everything you needed was available and more. Breakfasts were amazing and the hospitality exceptional. In a great location for walks and amenities but also a good base to explore from.

Although the location is fairly remote, castles tend not to be centrally placed! A small and unique venue, we were greeted personally on arrival and enjoyed the privacy of our room very much. Lovely grounds and very dog-friendly.
Really great and welcoming staff , Marcus and his team were brilliant. Nice airy room, very dog friendly. Excellent choice of food, really good value. Scottish breakfast spot on. Great location for exploring. Couldn't fault it.....it might not be 5 star decor etc but it was definitely 5 star for service and value. Would definitely return . Highly recommended.
The hotel staff were great, the food was excellant and great value. we will be going back thier again. Lovely surroundings and pet friendly they love our dog Koffee. Nick and Ashley great hosts.
