Very dirty place. Hair was found in the bathtub, with dust and dirt accumulating in the corners of the room and bathroom. The unpleasant smell resembled cigarettes, while the sheets were stained yellow. The carpet appeared black and had seemingly never been shampooed. The bed was shaky and made noises, the dresser was broken, and the closet had a hole leading inside the wall, allowing bugs and rats to enter.
Both travellers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.
We picked this motel because of the location. It is conventient distance to bars, restaurants, beach, and boat docks. The price was attractive. But there are 3 different small Inns and motels in this little strip of Sunset Beach.
The motel was convenient and affordable for the Surf City Half Marathon. The room looked recently updated, nice, not five star fancy, but I didn't need fancy for a pre-run, one night stay, just, safe, clean, with basic amenities. It met those requirements. My room had a microwave and mini fridge, always a plus. The staff I met were pleasant. I would stay here again.
Great location. Super clean. Retro motor style motel. Easy access to the car. Jacuzzi tub worth the money. Great coffee next door. Very nice manager owner. Runs a tight ship but extremely nice.
