Both travelers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help make check-in quick and easy.
I like the Wooden Shoe Tap Room. The motel is old and of dubious reputation that I didn’t know about until I got a look at it. That being said, the cleanliness was good but the property was old.
Breakfast was great Good food, reasonable price, fast service. On the same property as Motel. The Antique shop was wonderful. Wide variety of dealers and collections. Large and well organized.
We paid $400 a night for a two star motel that smelled awful. It looked like they had sprayed cans of chemicals to cover the smell of old dirty carpets.
The location was terrible, so close to the highway with a non stop traffic all night. So,
no sleep.
The vibe was depressing. The worst experience in our life. We’ve paid the same price at the mission pointe resort in Mackinac island, but the comparison is day and night. So our stay was a complete total Dissaster. Never Baymont regardless the location. Ever!
Would recommend and stay again. Friendly staff, large clean rooms, comfy beds and excellent showers. WIFI excellent. Plenty of free parking. Complimentary coffee and cookies at reception. Excellent hot and cold buffet with something for everyone. Great value, stayed two nights.
