Both travelers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help make check-in quick and easy.
Staff was great. It's quiet even for the summer days. Great location. Pool was clean for a older model motel. It's not a 5 star place but I would give it 5 stars for as old as the place is.
Great location on Maddox Boulevard. Close to bars/restaurants, shops, and Island Creamery! We used to stay here many years ago when it was called Mariner Motel, so staying here even for a night is nostalgic for me.
The Sea Shell Motel is an adorable beach town motel. It was conveniently located just a block away from the grocery store, and a short walk to local favorites like Ropewalk and Chincotiki. The rooms were comfortable, and we loved being able to sit outside on the chairs. There were also a number of Adirondack chairs, picnic tables and it looked like grills that we didn't take advantage of - but nice to have!
Small boutique motel with a lot of character. Exceptionally friendly staff. Wonderful well landscaped grounds with a variety of seating areas, pool, fire pit & screened grilling area. Clean nicely updated rooms with a touch of retro. Location is very near the entrance to the Island, surrounded by quaint residences and within walking distance to several popular restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops and other stores.
Breakfast was excellent. Close to rooms and very tasty. The rooms were economically priced, walking distance to downtown restaurants , stores and parks. The room accommodations were adequate. The furniture was dated but had everything we needed. The motel is under new ownership and modernization projects are under way. The more modern hotels downtown are priced 2-3 times more. This location answered all our needs. I would definitely stay again especially after modernization is finished.
It was very clean and although it was an older motel it looked like it had been redone and staff was very attentive. Good breakfast and clean pool with comfortable beds. Great price considering surrounding hotels!
The Seashell Motel is probably the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. Everything was spotless and looked to be recently updated. The motel was in an excellent location just one block from the main street. The staff that I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable about the events happening that weekend. 10/10 will stay again.
Owners are very hospitable! Old style motel ... very comfortable bed, new bath, within walking distance if you want a cocktail and don't want to drive! Thank you for a great stay! See you next year!
