The setting of the motel was very idyllic and relaxing, very close to the beach and also very close to local breakfast, lunch, and dinner eateries/restaurants. I would definitely go back again, maybe early October or first two weeks of December.

Clean and spacious rooms. Lovely grounds with picnic tables and a grill if you want to cook outside. Also a 2 burner stove. With no pool there were few kids so it made for a quiet stay compared to other motels. Short 5 minute walk to the beach. Within walking distance to several restaurants and coffee shops. Plenty of parking and they let you park behind the building on check out day if you want to stay in town a little longer after checkout.

First time at the motel and we already booked a return stay! This place is wonderful! We loved the location, close proximity to everything and very well maintained. The room, breakfast, and overall property is kept so clean and it’s a great place to bring your family. Most of all, we loved the staff - Alex is the best. He made sure our stay and room were perfect! He made the resort feel like home - and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks Alex and everyone at the Avondale by the sea for giving our family a great getaway.

Wonderful little hotel. Old school motel that has been completely renovated to be an upscale destination. Free parking on-site, access to the beach through their sister property included towels, beach lounge chairs and umbrella all setup by the beach staff. Wonderful friendly staff. Clean, beautiful rooms, spotless, great housekeeping staff. We were sad to leave and planning our return.

Pool was amazing; property is in close proximity to everything we wanted to see and do. Some would say it is dated as it is a “Motor Lodge” but we decided the word “vintage” was more appropriate.

The location of the Colton was perfect as it was directly across the street from the beach which is as close as you can get to beach front in Cape May. It's an older motel so it's nothing fancy but the room was large with a refrigerator, microwave, a decent cofeee Maker & tv of course & two queen beds that were very comfortable. The price was about 60% less than other motels in the area for the same weekend.

The location was convenient to restaurants, beach and sightseeing. The motel room and grounds were clean and tidy. Quiet motel. Adequate parking. Clean pool, nice temperature. Soft pillows and sheets. Wifi, ice machine, TV and refrigerator in room. Complimentary toiletries. Plenty of towels and wash cloths. Good shower pressure. Nice seating areas behind the motel, 2nd floor and pool area. Friendly front desk and other facility employees.

Great location on the main drag for this Mom & Pop motel. You walk out and see the coastline. A short drive to the Cape May Coast Guard training camp. The accommodations had a sitting room, bathroom, and bedroom. I only expected a bedroom and bathroom. The sitting room had a small cooking area including a mini frig. The rooms are clean.
