Both travelers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help make check-in quick and easy.
The hotel is very simple and modest. From outside definitely more scary, also considering the industrial neighbourhood, than inside. Corridors do remind of some hospital, as someone mentioned before in comments, but the room itself was nice, spacious and in good condition. All was clean, there was tea/coffee and cooker available. The self check-in was easy and quick, no problems to enter the building with given via message code and take the key. There was a lot of free parking spaces just outside.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was nice and fresh, with very comfy beds, two 90 cm wide. The toilet/shower was fresh and clean. The breakfast was a very nice buffet with the usual stuff to choose from. Free parking, but limited number of spaces. There is a shared kitchen in the basement where you can store cold stuff and even cook. Coffe, sodas, snacks and some sandwiches on sale in the reception.
Perfect location in the centre of Kalmar old town. Easy to find free parking space at night (free until 9 am). The breakfast buffet was super with both hot and cold dishes to choose from.
The hotel is situated very close to the Stora Torget. Several pubs and restaurants are available nearby, which is very good.
Free parking lot on the weekends is available three blocks away.
We had a comfort room, which is very spacious. Quiet area, free parking, easy walk to centre.
Bathroom was also spacious, but quite simple. The shower was powerful.
The room also had a sofa.
