The motel was conveniently located in the small town of Franz Josef, within walking distance to all activities. We were fortunate enough to experience a short helicopter tour, but unfortunately, our 2.5-hour heli-hike tour was canceled due to weather conditions. We also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour at the Wildlife Center, though heavy rain prevented us from doing any of the short hikes we had planned.
The hotel room was clean, but quite small for two beds, with little space to store suitcases other than on the second bed. On the plus side, the kitchenette was well-equipped with everything necessary for meal preparation.
Overall, it was a good stay for a reasonable price, and we would recommend it for anyone looking to explore the Franz Josef area!

We recently stayed at this self-contained accommodation in Franz Josef that was fantastic. Great mountain views, very quiet and private. The spacious dining and lounge area was really nice and it has a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Extremely well organized.

The Alpine Glacier Hotel was clean and comfortable for our family of four. The receptionist was very lovely and helpful with any of our requests. The motel was a good distance from local stores and restaurants such as Snake Bite Brewery and The Landing and the tourist attractions such as Franz Josef Glaciers and the Fox Glaciers, not too far if you have a car.
Great showers (water pressure was amazing). Got upgraded from a hostel room to a motel room. Gorgeous location with stunning scenery. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free hot tub and sauna were definitely a bonus.
I have stayed at Aspen Court once previously. Because I was impressed on the previous stay I automatically booked this motel again. Aspen Court sets a standard for the industry in New Zealand in every possible way. Our unit was warm and spotless on arrival. Our room was generously sized and very well appointed. Beds were super comfortable and cosy and there was a generous supply of extra bedding if required. The kitchen was very adequately supplied with utensils (we cooked our evening meal!) and the bathroom a treat.
This motel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of town. The rooms have an airy and alpine feel with large windows and A frame ceilings. The room came with all the amenities I needed.
Our room was large with a place to eat and two comfortable armchairs to relax in. The bed was comfortable and the heating fine. Location was great and we could walk to restaurants. The whole motel was spotless. Great views of snow topped mountains from the motel.
