Looking for a motel?
Both travellers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.

Nice family run motel. I needed a budget room to rest on my way to Vancouver and I got pretty good value for my money. The motel is a bit dated, but it's well maintained by the family that runs it. The town of Barrière has some good amenities, including a well stocked grocery store.

This motel is the cleanest and most tidy hotel I've ever stayed in, and it truly felt like a home away from home! Moreover, the owner was incredibly thoughtful and warm, leaving us with wonderful memories of our trip. The value is higher than the price. We will not only recommend it to friends, but we will also book this hotel again for our next visit.

The location suited our drive from Vancouver to Edmonton as we needed to rest. The room was not glamorous but the rocking chair was very comfortable, the tv worked and the bathroom was spacious and clean. The king bed was surprisingly comfortable. Even though the motel sits close to the railway tracks, the train passing didn't seem very loud once we were in the room. Good value for the type of accommodation.

Great price! very perfect! No price hikes by new owners due to rising interest rates! I've been walking along the way, most of them are priced from $200-$400, Y5motel is less than $100, the quality is the same as that of $200-$400. You can walk to bars and restaurants.

No breakfast but that's fine, considering that sometimes motel/hotel food isn't always great. The location is good but be aware that the train tracks are close by and the trains run often during the night.

Many of the travellers at this motel seem to be serious about getting a good night’s sleep. They turn in early and leave early. Perhaps like us, they are taking a break from the drive between the west coast and Alberta, or vice versa. We have found it a nice quiet place to rest half way along our journey. Nothing fancy, but it has everything you need.

Yes, it’s an old motel. Yes, it needs probably more than just a TLC. However, it was sparkling clean and far enough from the railway tracks. Plus the kitchenette was one of the best we’ve ever seen! Swimming pool was a nice bonus.
