Looking for a motel?
Both travellers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.

Very modern and comfortable hotel, located in front of the Barra beach (which is very nice), with only a road to cross. Huge TV screen in the room. Large standard room, with nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast buffet, which is quite varied. I could barely sample everything in a week. Very good coffee. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. For example, they fixed my suitcase in five minutes for free (it had been damaged during the flight).

The location couldn’t be better. It’s spacious and has great views. Patricia the ‘agent’ was really good. Free parking.

Clean and spacious, BUT… no view on the Flamengo beach, contrary what the building’s photo shows on the advertisement. Complicated procedure to enter the building. You have to contact a Portuguese speaking person via a speakerphone at the entrance, give your name and passport number in Portuguese, ao that they remotely open the door. The code dor the apartment door lock I was given by Whatsapp was wrong. It took ages and a lot of talking in Portuguese with the manager to fix it.

Great view from the top terrace. Old-style villa - not the ordinary "classic two-bed motel".

The hotel is quite new (or refurnished) with a very good location, with ease access (by car) to restaurants, bars, shopping centres, beaches, parks. Breakfast is nice as well, but could be better organised by staff. A very good grade should be addressed to the free parking lot.

This used to be a motel or a sex hotel in Brazilian standards, it was converted to a regular hotel a couple of years ago. The rooms are dark and old with those large hot tubs that couples used to go for “relaxation”, the mattress is hard and very uncomfortable, the sheets are super thin and short, the decor is old and tacky. If you stay on the second floor get ready to wake up at 5am because the noise from the breakfast floor on the 3rd floor is unbearable. Seriously, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed.
