Very clean, fresh, no nonsense pleasant motel. Big comfy beds, good room size, country hospitality, easy walk to shops and restaurants, and you can hear the surf as you drift off to sleep. Good kitchenette too.
Overlooking the Shoalhaven River in the quiet fishing village of Greenwell Point, Anchor Bay Motel offers rooms with access to a furnished balcony or verandah. Most rooms have water views.
Both travellers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.
We've stayed in a lot of motels and hotels, so we can say with confidence that this place nails it.
Sure, it's a time bit tired, but there is everything there you need, from microwave and toaster to king size beds and, yes, king size towels!
And all for a really competitive nightly rate.

It was everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We loved that they had thought of and catered to everything we might need during our stay. It was more modern than most motels. Heaters and TVs in each of the rooms and a good flow on the shower.
Our favourite was the cafe downstairs, which served great coffee and food. The staff were wonderful. Short walking distance to walk along the river which was lovely. There's also an onsite indoor pool and laundry facilities.
Partner & I were travelling on motorbikes, and we requested a room where our bikes were close by (for security) which the motel was able to accommodate. The location of the motel was excellent being right near the centre of Nowra, so we could walk to a cafe for breakfast, or there is a coffee & donuts shop right across the road. The rooms were so well prepared, reception staff lovely, communication excellent, hence 10/10. Would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
For the price, it was a great deal. Obviously there are limited amenities but that’s in the definition of a motel. Been to places that have been a lot less comfortable for a lot more money.
The apartment was very clean, very spacious and the full kitchen had all we needed e.g. utensils, pots and pans. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great and opposite a big Woolworths. Even though the motel is on a highway it was really quiet and we enjoyed a very comfortable sleep each night! The free parking outside our room was excellent too. We highly recommend this place!
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment at the motel which was right next to the pool. The apartment was lovely inside, very clean and well stocked with biscuits and tea/coffee things. There was also a mini fridge, toaster and microwave. We couldn't fault the apartment. There was also a very nice Chinese restaurant in the motel area which was the tastiest food we had on the roadtrip. Would definitely recommend a meal there. Just wish we had stayed there longer than the one night!
