New Norfolk Junction Motel, hotel in New Norfolk

Nothing. We are extremely disappointed with the health and safety standards that are clearly not being met. Uncomfortable, unsafe, unclean. A good joke would be calling this place a Motel. But in fairness, we arrived late our flight was delayed and the person I spoke with was accomodating with putting the key for the room in a box. We arrived at 1 am, and we were horrified to get into our room and discover opened half drunk cans of beer sitting in the shower. And The glassware in the fridge had been used, covered in orange juice. Although the rest of the room seemed clean, after seeing these issues it was hard to believe anything had been cleaned correctly. On day 2 of our stay, the cleaner unlocked our hotel room door and attempted walked in at 8:20AM. We had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door handle. When I confronted the cleaner, she said she got my room key from the lock box so she assumed I had checked our. But my room key was in my pocket, she then claimed reception told her to. Either way she seemed confused so I left it alone.

We used this motel as a stopping point for a visit to Pedder Lake, which was convenient. The motel is a quirky refurbishment of quite an old motel. It suited us for 2 nights, but their restaurant was out of action because of a function. We slept well in the single beds and not worried by road noise.

I loved it because it is colourful, quirky and very, very friendly. As a solo traveller most of the time (yay retirement), feeling safe, comfortable and looked after is number one for me. Junction Motel met the criteria. Plus, it has personality. There is so much to look at, from lovely artworks to shop dummies to an abundance of succulents. This is not a boring, sterile come and go motel. This is a stop and linger and relax whilst having fun.

A interesting motel nice and clean and comfortable. Separate toilet in the bathroom area. Just what we needed close to Hobart before we fly out. A underated motel. We will definitely stay again if we visit the area. Don't forget to have a look around New Norfolk town. Amazing history complete with friendly helpful people.
