The location was perfect with less than a 10 minute walk into Byron Bay centre and Main Beach. Private beach access was a big plus, as was having a nice pool and BBQ facilities. The property is a bit older but very well maintained. Adequate free parking was a bonus. We would certainly consider staying at Wollongbar Motel, should we go to Byron Bay again.

Location was ideal and not busy. Beach is insane. The rooms are perfect size and so the bed was so comfortable! The pool wasn't great but the ocean is over the path!
After an extensive 3 month renovation, The Sails Motel is re-opening November 2023 with totally refurbished rooms and outdoor spaces.

Great communication. Check-in was easy. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was good size. Room was well equipped. Location was excellent. 5 minute walk to main street. Great eating/coffee options next door. Pool area was a bonus. Off street parking is provided.

This quaint little hotel is situated in the perfect location, everything is close by including the beach, right next door to an awesome pub and the cafes and shopping are all just a short walk away.
The room is clean and comfortable, I really enjoyed my stay here.
Both travelers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help make check-in quick and easy.
I love the private room, very comfortable and beautiful. It was just a little bit too noisy until late at night cause it’s in front of the bar and it’s made of wooden walls. The public facilities were great and always clean, beautiful pool, amazing inclusions on the rate (yoga class, shuttle to the center, free parking). Everything seems recently refurbished, not the shared bathrooms though, it could be better, I missed a shelf inside the showers. Overall, great place in front of the beach! I want to be back for sure.
Everything was easy. Staff were lovely and explained everything. Free parking at front door. Self contained cabin with double bed, kitchenette small lounge and dining room. Older style room but very comfortable. Crisp clean sheets and fluffy towels. Restaurants are shops only a few minutes away or 10 minutes walk. Well worth the money.
Love the design and details of the hotel and I hope they never remove them however some things do need an upgrade - the grout in the tiles is in a terrible state also some of the carpet is very worn.
The location is excellent and the free parking is great. The electric car charging would have been wonderful but it doesn’t allow non Teslas to charge. There is a setting you can have this amended!
Great location, with free parking up the road. Beautiful, clean and comfortable room. Was very easy to check in. It had everything we needed for our short stay.
The motel is located within minutes of the beach and the heart of town. We walked everywhere from our stay. The bar fridge was stocked with goodies that was a nice treat after being on the road for so long. Everything was clean and staff were ready for the daily room clean on day 2.
I arrived here coming, by hire car, from the Gold Coast and found it relatively easy to find. There was free parking in front of the buildings in the motel like concept off this establishment. The people I met at the motel reception on the morning on departure were friendly enough. Quite chatty, relaxed and laid back. Nice enough pool. The WiFi worked at poolside.
