Owner/manager Gecko was so friendly and accommodating. Gave us lots of tips and was always ready to help us with whatever we needed. Nice pool, room was spacious enough. We were even allowed to pick fruits in the garden.. and eat as much as we liked, for free! :) Garden in the back was quite relaxing with hammocks and lots of chairs. Basic Vietnamese food selection at the restaurant but good and filling enough! Pretty cheap too!

Everything looked new/very well-maintained and clean. Rooms were spacious and had a nice balcony. Pool on the rooftop was really good. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. Very good value for money, would highly recommend!

For us the best thing about this accommodation was the family running it. Linda and her family are the sweetest, most amazing people ever. It doesnt feel like they are running a business, it feels like you are going to their home and that's how they treated us. We are traveling with our 1 year old baby, and we also got sick mid-way through our stay. We have felt so incredibly taken care of, and Linda went out of her way to help us with anything we may have needed. We are are really really thankful and appreciate everything so so much! We rented a bigger house 3 min walking from the main area, with the pool and the restaurant, and the yard we had was great!

Situated in Cat Ba in the Hai Phong Municipality region, Viet Hai Lan Homestay features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. We loved everything about our week-long stay at Lan Homestay. The location was perfect for us to explore the village on a scooter/motorbike (which they have available for rent). It's in a quiet neighborhood on a hill, which is located in hidden valley. The landscaping and grounds are beautiful with an abundance of flowering plants, and jackfruit trees that make the property feel like an eco-resort. The staff works tirelessly to keep everything in perfect condition - everyone seemed to be working around the clock. The included breakfast was very good — with a choice of a beverage and a choice of food and always served with a plate of fresh fruit. We also enjoyed a couple of other meals there and everything we ordered was delicious. Most of all our host, Mr. Chilly was everything you could ask for in a great host. He was super-friendly and assisted us with anything we needed from providing suggestions for things to do in Cat Ba to arranging travel for us back to our Hanoi . We would highly recommend Lan Homestay and will stay here again next time we come to Cat Ba.
