The location was incredibly beautiful and the room had everything we needed. We also had a fully equipped kitchen available for any kitchenware not available in the room. Definitely worth the trip up the road and will surely come back when we are in the area

The lodge looked exactly as in the photos, cosy, warm and so well equipped that really nothing was missing, going all the way to the clean and incredibly nice perfume of the complimentary towels.

Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. Basically everything! Gelu and Vio are amazing hosts with friendly and pleasant mood everyday when you see them. They didn't treat me like a guest, they treat me like their friend!! It warms me up especially when I travel all alone by myself in this far far far away place! Every day we had dinner together, they introduce their friends, their relative to me. Even one day Vio dressed me up in traditional clothes and took pictures with them. What a lovely family!! However you better have a car to get there, I'm not sure if there is any public transport to go there. And the room was lovely and cozy, I was actually first attracted by the pictures of the rooms, and it ended up being the most amazing and unforgettable memories of my journey in Romania. Thank you Gelu and Vio!! Hopefully I will bring my family and visit you again in the future!!

We enjoyed the silence, the view over the valley, and the salt pool to relax. The kids could play in the forest nearby. The owner is a very kind person. We recommend the house to all nature loving people!

Lovely authentic wooden house from Maramureş county with all modern facilities you can possibly need for a comfortable get away. The location is amazing , close enough to the city and several touristic spots, yet remote enough to give you quiet evenings and moments of rest with only sounds of birds and the bells of the horses or cows eating on the pastures close by.
The place itself was very nice, in a quite area and very nice views. You don't get breakfast there, you make your own and they provide utensils. We were the only lodgers at the time so we benefit from a quiet stay. Only downside is that i was told we can pay by card when we got a confirmation call, but when we got there, the gentleman said we could only pay cash (not sure if it was because we arrived late in the evening or because we were the only ones, but luckily we had cash with us.)
Absolutely fantastic and authentic stay. Central to all the major sites in Maramures. This is probably the best lodging in the area and the hosts were amazing, attentive and provided great local advice. It only opened recently, so recommend a visit before word of mouth gets out!
In one word: FANTASTIC 👍🏻 Hospitality is very important at Casa Chira. A beautiful wooden house, furnished with love and taste! The garden is well maintained and located directly on the nearby river. Beautiful place. Peace and quiet, a beautiful wooden house with an amazing braided fence, a great view, comfortable and cozy rooms, delicious and filling breakfast ( there is a equipped kitchen if you need it) and the host welcomed us like family. A good restaurant with live music, a beautiful wooden church and lots of walking routes within a 5 minute walk. I will go back there for sure!
