Offering garden views, Ranginui Retreat in Masterton offers accommodation, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. Rob and Susie greeted us as well as Biscuit and Coco the dogs with open arms which made us feel at home straight away. We stayed in the villa which was beautiful just a nice amount of space and the beds were the best by far having slept in 14 different accommodations on our journey around New Zealand. Rob and Susie are enthusiastic about local produce, Rob is passionate about the local wines that is produced from down the road and Susie grows fruit and vegetables on site. We had 2 evening meals which I highly recommend from plot to plate which was truly amazing and so tasty.

Situated in Upper Hutt in the Wellington region, Incline Cottage offers accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen and a private garden. It is located next to the Rimutaka Cycle Trail. This place could NOT have been more adorable. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we’d made a great choice. And we were SO bummed to only be able to stay one night— we would’ve happily stayed far longer. Here’s what we especially liked: 1) Very cute decor inside. Not just thrown together: it’s clear that real thought went into making it attractive and welcoming. 2) Spotlessly clean throughout. 3) Heat lamp in the bathroom, so you’re warm when you exit the shower. 4) Great shower! 5) Excellent kitchen— full size everything. 6) Some provisions on hand for you to use, including milk, coffee, sugar, etc. 7) There’s a beautiful little private back porch that looks down over a forested hillside. There are also horses and chickens in the yard— very cute. 8) The place is completely self-contained. You have your own private house to yourself. 9) Belinda, the owner, is great. She messaged me the day before my arrival to give me explicit instructions on how to find the place and where my key would be. I didn’t have to see anyone to check in and out. All in all, we LOVED this place. 10/10. Would stay again!

Located on 3000 acres of land opposite Ocean Beach, Wharekauhau Country Estate boasts a day spa, a tennis court and an outdoor pool. We felt absolutely spoiled. We were welcomed with open arms. The staff were outstanding, informatve and very friendly. Although the dinner menu was very limited the quality was 5 star. Accommodation was absolutely immaculate and so comfortable. Will definitely be back even though it was a bit pricey.

Situated on a quiet hillside, Harbour Lodge features an indoor swimming pool, spa pool and sauna. The large guest lounge features an open fire and sweeping views of Wellington Harbour. The breakfast was exceptional - very tasty & great company with the host joining us. The spa was brilliant with a beautiful outlook. The heated bathroom floor was a bonus as well. Felt like that we had the whole area to ourselves.

Set in Wellington with Basin Reserve Cricket Ground and National War Memorial nearby, Ascot Motor Lodge offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Directly across the road from the hospital. Plenty of parking available. 10/10 customer service! The receptionist was delightful. Shower pressure was powerful. Everything was clean and well stocked. Amazing service that I can’t fault anything. Also upgraded for free too. Amazing restaurants (pho viet best Vietnamese Ive ever had!) supermarket and bus stops are a short walk away

Situated just 10 minutes’ walk from Lower Hutt city centre, this 4.5-star motel offers stylish accommodation with satellite TV channels, cooking facilities and spacious bathrooms. Very well maintained and modern hotel. Excellent staff, rooms spotless, furnishings excellent. Lots of parking.
