The lodge is just before snow wall. Dinner & breakfast was excellent. We stayed at japanese style room, which was fun.

This is a lodge located just a little bit below Murodo, which is famous for the snow wall (Yuki no Ōtani). breakfast and dinner is provided, you can also take lunch at the lodge with a reasonable price, which i strongly suggest it. We stay at April for the snow wall trip and not really feeling cold in the room, not even using the heater provided despite the temperature outside is about 3 Celcius. Will definitely visit again in another season!

It is a no frills lodge surrounded by majestic mountains. Good for hiking in the areas..Lodge is clean & the owners & staff are very friendly. Easily accessible, the bus stops in front of the lodge.

Great location. The walking path from Murodo station to the lodge was exceptional

Loved our experience staying at the lodge, very authentic stay and the most beautifully kind and lovely staff! We really enjoyed being called down for meals which were always exquisitely laid out and served.

I loved the people here. Saeki-san and staff made me feel very welcome, and they recommended a mountain guide for my hike who was also fantastic. The food was both delicious and plentiful, and the lodge was very clean. In short, everything was great :) This has been my favourite place in Japan. If I am able to visit this country again, I will definitely stay longer at Tengudaira lodge :D

The food and staff were amazing and great at communicating with English only speaking Americans. It is a peaceful traditional Japanese lodge filled with character and charm. An exceptional price for all that is included.

The lodge was in the mountains surrounded by snow. The place was very clean and well kept. It was raining on the day that we arrived but the staff made sure our stay was excellent in-spite of the bad weather. The food served at dinner and lunch were great. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We would like to come back with better weather.

The lodge is nice and warm. In the middle of the alpine route. The views are amazing, away from other hotels so there is not many people around and it's very quiet and peaceful. The meals are delicious but the best part is the staff. Everyone working there has an amazing attitude and always have a smile on their face, nice polite and always willing to help you in any, way, they can, wish I knew Japanese so I could talk more to them. I stayed in a western style room first and then a Japanese style room, loved both.
