In addition to the lovely apartment, it was the warm welcome from my host, Anna, that made my stay truly unforgettable. Not only is she friendly, warm, and easy to talk to, but she also made herself available for any needs I had during my stay, even offering to drive me to places that were difficult to reach on foot. Having lived in the region for over 30 years, Anna is an invaluable source of information about everything from local history and culture to tourist activities, which was especially helpful for a spontaneous traveler like me who didn’t have any fixed plans before arriving. For hikers, Anna provides guidebooks and topographic maps from the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), perfect for choosing a day hike. In short, Anna takes hospitality very seriously and goes above and beyond the standard you would expect in most hotels or vacation rentals; she truly makes you feel at home and is passionate about sharing her love for the region.

The place was just what we were expecting. The owner was coming to pick us up from a point in the middle of the mountain and was super nice and kind. She gave us the instructions via her phoebe using Google translate as she was not speaking English - though we got along fine with that. The place is located on the top of the mountain and has the best view. We were there with our kids who enjoyed it as well. It is very clean and had everything we needed. Be aware that this place is really in the “middle of nowhere” so you gotta go there with all the things you’ll need for a long stay - including water (!!!!)
