10mn by scooter off the main road with a few bumpy moments going through local villages. The showers are a bit playful (one less than the other tho I let you discover) Except of that it's a little piece of paradise. Very kind owners, incredible looking wooden houses surrounded by nature. A beautiful and exclusive property set in a large landscaped garden and bordered by a deep river. Traditional colonial lodge style architecture. Airy & spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Aris and his colleagues provide excellent home cooked meals. Lovely swimming pool enclosed in a mature garden grove. Congratulations to the owner for creating such a beautiful little paradise at one with its surroundings.
The host helped us with everything from an airport transfer to a shared bus to Ijen. A pretty nice restaurant is just in two steps from the lodge. 5 star location definitely
It’s a wonderful place, Hadi & the staff are such nice people! We had a relaxing time at Java Turtle Lodge. The accommodation is super clean, stylish & well taken care of. The bathroom is amazing!
The wooden house is beautifully located in the garden, just next to the rice paddies. Host family is very sweet and hospitable. They speak good English and are very helpful with arranging the transfer, early breakfast etc.
Room was quite big and bed was comfortable. Although there was no heating, we didn’t have cold during the night. Location was great, close to a good restaurant and to the start of the hike to the Bromo viewpoints (such as King Kong hill viewpoint). Tip: don’t take the jeep safari’s, but hike instead (to viewpoint and to mt Bromo crater).
Great location with the best view of Bromo. It is inside the national park so we had to pay 250k pp as an entrance fee. There is a great restaurant at 2 minutes walk called "Lava View Lodge". In the morning they do a buffet breakfast which is great after the sunrise tour. Affordable driver from and to Probolinggo, we paid 300k each way. The jeep tour was good value at 150k pp
The ambience, the design, and the cleanliness of the lodge. Top notch! The owner also very gracious and communicative. Makes us feel like we're spending nights in good ol' friends'. The beach is max 10 minutes walking, and very serene in the morning.
