The bed itself was so comfortable - the best place I stayed my whole trip - you could sink into it and really wrap yourself up under the heavy comforter, perfect for the frequently cool and rainy days in Lochranza! The roof is slanting and the bathroom skylight highlighted the pattering of rain throughout the night! The dinner menu was advised a week before and I made a selection for salmon which was cooked perfectly. Pretty much nothing is open at 7p in Lochranza, so it's easier to have dinner at the Lodge. Brodick has some options if you want to drive half an hour. The location is very tranquil and the water pressure and temp were great. The provided soaps were very nice scents as well. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was also available which was tasty & filling.

The location was ideal for being able to experience all of Arran but also finding some peace and quiet. The little stream was loved by our dog and made sitting out on the decking all the more peaceful. Its a compact but very well thought out space. Hosts were super friendly & very helpful.
Great location for exploring the island. Our room in the lodge was comfortable and spacious with lovely decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in a great place to stay.
We loved everything about our stay at Butt Lodge; if you are thinking of booking, do it! Cath & Mac were exceptional hosts, we really can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. They both made us feel welcome and relaxed despite travelling with a young baby. Mac is an outstanding chef and we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there every day. Cath is a warm, friendly host who makes you feel comfortable. We couldn’t recommend a stay a Butt Lodge more.
The lodge we stayed in was fantastic, very clean and peaceful. Lovely staff, everyone was v helpful. Also appreciated our bags being dropped to the ferry terminal upon checkout.
Very comfortable and perfect location for touring the area. Staff encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room in the lodge was ideal for our short break
I stayed in the main lodge house; very clean room. Communal kitchen was very clean, roomy, and well organized. The folks running the lodge are extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is just great: showstopping view out over the harbor and Holy Isle. Lamlash is a small village, but very charming and with everything you need. Overall, a fantastic stay!
The room had everything I needed as well as complimentary tea and coffee, set in the grounds of Arran Lodge with outdoor seating areas and stunning views over the bay of Lamlash to the Holy Isle.
What a hidden Gem! Cath and Mac were the perfect hosts, rhe room was perfect (superior double) with a fabulous view of the Deer at 6am...just perfect. The food was delicious, Mac made the perfect t evening meal and breakfast, everything was cooked to order and fresh. We would definitely recommend Butt Lodge for a fab stay.
Butt Lodge is in a superb location and has a lovely homely feel as soon as you walk through the door. The hosts couldn't be more helpful, kind and informative and the cooked breakfasts and evening meals are just superb. We had 2 dogs with us who were also made welcome and it was great to walk out to stunning countryside and coastline.
I had a lovely stay at Butt Lodge. Mac's beautifully prepared meals and Cath's hostessing skills make for a dream team. Lochranza is such a pictureque and peaceful area. My room was perfect and well located for seeing the deer, and I also really enjoyed seeing the seals and birdlife on my coastal walk. Thanks too for the help with Storm Kathleen!
