Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The location of the lodge is ideal for game watching. The waterhole is just in front and the animals come and go to drink.
The food was excellent. The chef did a great job. Many thanks.
Special thanks to our personal guide Absalom. You did a great job showing us around. The day trip through the park was awesome.
I hope that the Wifi can be repaired soon.
The remoteness of the place, the setting, the beautiful building, the huge room, bathroom and shower, the fact that we were really "at home" as - unfortunately for the owner of the place - we were alone, just the two of us, with a whole efficient staff at our disposal 24/24. The fact that the manager arranged with the nearest lodge, about 6 km away, for us to be able to go there for free wifi access at any time as the lodge's installation had been struck by lightning and was out of order.
Such an amazing place with fantastic, helpful staff! We stayed for 3 nights and did 2 game drives organised by the Lodge. It was such an amazing experience with elephants visiting the lodge & safari so close. Great value for money. Big shout out to Chef Kuda, Immaculate & Ashley for taking care of us!
Biggest shout out to our safari guide Mduduzi who guided us to lions, hyenas, giraffes, elephants & more! Thanks for putting up with our banter. Hope to see everyone again!
Hwange Safari Lodge is in a convenient area to Hwange National Park. The rooms are well appointed, very comfortable and a great place to spend a few days. The facilities and activities offered are very good. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Food very good, Staff super friendly, Beautiful remote location with true rustic feel, awesome nighttime viewing at the watering hole
Easy to organise game drives (although wrong prices were given and they are run by nearby lodges. We loved the trip in the jeep to and from the lodge but it did talk half an hour or so so some may feel its a long time to actually get to the park.
It's a lot cheaper than other lodges and for the price very nice. The tree houses are amazing and the pool very clean. The restaurant with the water whole is top.
a truly rustic unpretentious bush safari lodge, dining area overlooking the pan or vlei where Africa’s wild animals frolic just 50 m away, great pool, fabulous food, best most attentive staff one could possibly have
Everyone was super friendly and hospitable. Authentic and local. Excellent value, especially in context of sky-high pricing for lodges near game drives. Activities were top-notch: our guides made sure we had as satisfying an experience as we had hoped for.
