Berghaven Cottages, hotel in Winterton

25 km from Winterton, within the Champagne Valley, Berghaven Cottages features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Free WiFi is offered.

Berghaven Cottages are situated in a wonderfully tranquil spot with wildlife - we saw a big owl, little bucks, a fish eagle, geese, and many other birds. The owner's cat kept us company on our walks and showed off some of his funny tricks scrambling up huge trees. It was very entertaining indeed! The owner upgraded us as there was an open cottage and we truly appreciated that. What a nice gesture. We slept very comfortably. From the stoep with its relaxing chairs we had a picturesque view over the dams and spacious surroundings and we loved to sit there. Berghaven cottages is a very short drive from Valley Bakery, Berg Air Centre with its chocolate and coffee shop, cheese shop, and other interesting shops. We will definitely go again.

Three Tree Hill Lodge, hotel in Winterton

Overlooking the Spioenkop Game Reserve, Three Tree Hill Lodge offers luxury accommodation. It features a sun deck next to an outdoor swimming pool. There are hiking trails and guided tours available.

Unbelievably stunning location, views across the unspoilt bush landscape from rooms and terraces are unbeatable. Great food, and wonderful dining room / terrace / lounge meant meals were a relaxed delight. Extremely welcoming and engaging staff and hosts. The two dawn game walks we did are now right up there in the highlights of my life.

Spion Kop lodge is set in immaculate grounds with a beautiful swimming pool. Our bedroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Food was excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. The lodge has so much history and we really enjoyed our half day battle field tour with Richard. We would highly recommend a stay if you want to experience an authentic and peaceful stay in this beautiful part of South Africa.

The most beautiful view from the living area. Unpretentious lodging with everything you need for a couple of days' stay in the cottages. Enough wall plugs, conveniently placed. Very peaceful, yet close enough to everything in the area.

A magnificent and peaceful setting with incredible staff and hosts. The room was very clean and comfortable and the meals were excellent. The highlight of the stay was the half-day "Battlefields" trip to Spioen Kop and Mount Alice provided by our host/guide, Raymond Herron. Incredible! For bird enthusiasts, the bird life is prolific. All in all Spioen Kop Lodge is highly recommended and we look forward to a return trip. Our thanks to all.
