Great staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Definitely worth staying two days in order to fully enjoy the premises and facilities. A good place to calm down and relax in the nature. The road to get there is quite tough but other than that great experience. Thank you!

Hilltop Country Retreat is a fantastic place with very friendly staff. We received an upgrade and it was absolutely fantastic. Spacious room with all you need, a BBQ-place with wood available and a great swimming pool. We were 100% surprised by this location and facilities. With any next visit to SA we will come back for sure.

Such a memorable experience. A true 5 star lodge with amazing accommodation. As they only have 8 guests at anytime you have a real luxurious home from home experience with knowledgable staff on all counts. Our tour guide Romeo was absolutely brilliant & so experienced enabling us to see everything we expected. The lodge is on the south side of sanbona so you must pay the extra conservation fee to enter with him to the north where you see the big 5. If you are looking for a true luxurious safari experience then book here - you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended

We love to stay at Swellendam country lodge, Jan and Viviene are superhost. And the breakfast is delicious, The room is beautifully decorated and everything u need is there, and no loadshedding because of inverter and solar. U feel like you are home away from home. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very comfy beds.Garden area is a small paradise where you can relax at the pool area.
Breakfast offers everything you wish
Absolutely loved this place. A 85 hectare piece of land with lots of animals roaming around and you can walk among them. I was upgraded to one of the lodges, stunning view of the mountains, barbecue place, the bed was comfortable and all else was perfect.
Great lodge with super friendly hosts. We stayed one night on our way to the garden Route and in hindsight would have loved to stay longer. Such a beautiful place!
