Looking for a lodge?
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

Even though the listing was VERY misleading, the lodge in general was neat and clean.

Sani Lodge Backpackers has everything you need for exploring the Sani Pass and Drakensberg mountains. Staff are helpful and with the information they provide you can keep yourself busy for several days of excellent hiking. The common areas are spacious and well kept while there are options for rooms on all budgets. I stayed in a small rondavel that was very affordable but slightly cold for the season.

Amazing area and our stay at Sani Lodge Backpackers were great. We met a few new people and the atmosphere was great. The breakfast and dinners we had was very enjoyable and the kitchen staff was very friendly.

Really cool place for backpackers. Great value for money. Russel and all of the stuff are really nice and helpful, always cared we enjoy and we have everything we need. The room are basic but clean and satisfying. The common room equipped with all you need to make food. We also really liked the restaurant they have wonderful homemade cheese. And the food is simple and tasty. All the surroundings of the lodge are so beautiful, and it nice even just seat reflex and enjoy the views.

Especially the location (you can start hiking from the lodge and let your car) , the room and the kitchen equipment. A good place to stay after a hiking of 5 days

Amazing spot in the middle of the mountains, feel just like home! every detail is thought of. Allows you to enjoy nature while also making sure you think of the environment in this eco friendly lodge. The host Russel was great and helped us select a nice afternoon hike.
