Staying at Sabie Star is like having a Goldilocks moment that never ends! Everything is just right. Waking up in a comfortable chalet to the sight and sound of nature is amazing.
Having a relaxing swim or walking around in the well maintained garden is good for.the soul.
And the surprise waterfall is welll worth a visit.
We felt very spoiled having a scrumptious breakfast with freshly baked bread every morning. Definitely recommended.
Thank you Shawne (and Logan) for your informative chats and being wonderful hosts. And thank you for the upgrade. It is much appreciated.

Everything. The staff dedication, they make you feel like you are the only guest, also enjoyed the upgrade to honeymoon suit, and so much character in the decorations, not forgetting tranquility. I will definitely go back.

Amazing location, scenery and hospitality. We loved Renate’s stories. She is an excellent host with such a passion for her heritage. The food and wine was delicious and is such a confirmation of the ambience that she creates.

Beautiful rooms, peaceful and relaxing looking out over the lake. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very tasty and the onsite restaurant was very good.
We had an amazing time and will definitely be back.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The place is easy enough to find. Google knows the entrance from the main road. The road up to the lodge is doable in a 4x4, but otherwise a challenge!
Rina, the house keeper, took great care of us. The place is really lovely.
Only one star subtraction for all the minor little details that just keep it from being great. Some stains here, a not-so-well-patched hole in the roof, the damaged pool table, etc etc.
Overall great value for money but there’s room for improvement 😉
Amazing guest lodge! Now
Very high level of service. It is very well maintained and clean but you can see that it is a place with some history and character. This was part of the charm for us.
Sabie is also a nice town and an amazing start for the Panorama route!
Would love to come again in the future.
Everything was laid-back and connected to nature.
The beautiful old furniture, next to a natural river, great shower basin, road to the lodge covered by super green bushes, lovely staff, self catering services with all necessary etiquette.
We stayed in one of the Lodges, it was great. A lot of space and everything we needed.
The facilities are also wonderful and the location is just beautiful
