Amazing experience from start to finish! Geoff looked after us. Being so close to the elephants at night was amazing in the boma lounge. The rooms were super comfortable, and the morning walk with the elephants was on another level!

The Robberg Beach Lodge - Lion Roars Hotels & Lodges, hotel in Plettenberg Bay

Located in Plettenberg Bay and a 2-minute walk from the beach, The Robberg Beach Lodge offers luxury accommodation with Indian Ocean, garden or Robberg Nature Reserve views.

We stayed in a sea view suite, which is the most expensive category and we were happy with it (except for the poor wifi connectivity in our room). Your overall experience may be quite different if you choose to stay in a cheaper room, as seen in the mixed bunch of reviews this property receives. The breakfast was the other thing that let us down. Maybe the cook that morning was having a bad day because the omelette we ordered was dry as sawdust and quite tasteless. The staff were lovely though, very warm and friendly.

Lombard Villa, hotel in Plettenberg Bay

Offering garden views, Lombard Villa in Plettenberg Bay offers accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and barbecue facilities.

Thank you for allowing us mere mortals to experience this house. This majestic house is mind blowing. I feel so bad for the reviews of guests that could not appreciate the privilege to stay in one of our country's historic villas. Peeling paint I could not find. Only style and comfort. Peeling paint in a 5 year old guest room where you have to fill the kettle in the bathroom and can only walk one step each way is a problem. How can anyone rate this lovely aged elegant ,place on the same scale as anything else! ! In my life I have not stayed in anything as grand as this. Beds and linen white, crisp and comfy. Kitchen as large as my whole house with a fireplace where you can wait for your meals to heat in the microwave or late night Milo to cool down. Feel like reading or answering emails , do that in the majestic , comfort of the first sitting room, with a view on vineyards and horses slowly grazing. Feel like eating or building a puzzle , you have a dining room with a table as big as any palazzo in Europe. If you feel like building and firing your own pizza or bread , you will find a pizza oven and braai under the best canopy with the best views. Nothing in this house is ordinary, don't book if you want a B&B copy and paste unit. This is something where you will have to know : no close, noisy neighbours, only a few minutes from the N2. Plan and bring your frozen meals or order Checker 60 for delivery . 10 min away is a very smart and well stocked Mug and Bean and a garage shop. Best coffee and bakes and good food like chicken and breakfast options. 24 /7. Don't come expecting to cook your meals on the stove top. Read the rules!...it is chaos if all 6 units wants to cook and guests sometimes do not clean after themselves..another review I saw. How can you rate this beautiful house low because guests were messy? That is why you cannot cook! But experience the grandeur of oversized furniture and the views and tranquility. Thank you Lombard Villa .

Singing Kettle Beach Lodge, hotel in Plettenberg Bay

Located in Keurboomstrand, Singing Kettle Beach Lodge features panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and has an à la carte restaurant, terrace and free WiFi.

Great outlook over the sea. Very cosy and although the weather was chilly our hostess made sure we had extra Blankets and another Duvet. Having the Enrico's restaurant downstairs was a wonderful add on so we didn't have to use our car. Enjoyed the community atmosphere in the Restaurant. Wonderful to wake up in the morning looking out over the sea as the sun came up. Definitely worth another visit

Crags Country Lodge, hotel in Plettenberg Bay

With mountain views, Crags Country Lodge is located in The Crags and has a restaurant, luggage storage space, bar, garden, outdoor pool and terrace.

We spent two absolutely fantastic days at the lodge. It is situated on a hill, so you can enjoy a great panoramic view and wonderful sunsets every day. Everything is beautifully and modernly furnished. The food, wine selection and coffee were also fantastic. The location directly on the N2 means you can get to the Tsitsikamma in around half an hour. The lodge is therefore a very good starting point for hikes. Last but not least, we would also like to praise James and the entire staff: they really went out of their way to make sure that we had a fantastic stay.

Breakfast was outstanding in choice and quality and was served in a beautiful light and sunny room. Staff were next level and made one feel like the only person staying at the lodge with their friendly, yet professional manner. The dinners at all of the restaurants was beautifully presented and of exceptional quality. A wide variety of facilities and services available to guests. Lovely walks on the property. Location was secluded enough to offer serenity and relaxation yet within close enough proximity to all the local attractions.

The unique experience and oppertunity viewing the elephants at night and at rest as well as the interaction with them and the guides. The rooms were pristine, warm and comfortable. The lodge was very accommodating with any special requests! Rhe Cafè was comfi and the food was good. The kids could enjoy the ducks and swans and the play area while we relaxed. Staying at the Knysna Elephant Lodge cannot be summed up in mere words such as awesome, wonderful, enchanting, spiritual. It was so magical to feed, walk with and observe these majestic land animals 24/7! The grounds were beautiful, the staff and guides fantastic and of course the elephants. Both my travel partner and I felt that if we didn’t have family and obligations back home, we would have stayed on and volunteered. It was that phenomenal of an experience!

The highlight of our South Africa trip! Emily Moon River Lodge is an amazing property with the coolest boho decor and incredible lodges. We couldn't get over the views!! Grant was the friendliest host, reserving us a table at the popular Simon's Bar for pizza and live music, and recommending lots of things to do in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful lodges with spacious tastefully furnished rooms. The open kitchen is equipped with basic kitchen utensils and condiments. Large outdoor barbecue area. The highly recommended restaurant serves quality dishes and remarkably creative cocktails in a private athmosphere. There is plenty of opportunity for adventures on the island and it's surrounding river. The ferry to take people on and off the island works well on a 15min notice period. There indeed are Zebras roaming the island which are curious and friendly.

    - the lodge is located in a natural paradise; directly on the Bitou River, very quiet and idyllic - rooms are nicely furnished and clean, except for the bathroom, which seemed a bit uninspired - Kerry, the hostess, was eager to give good tips and booked tables in restaurants for us in the evening as well as organizing a great safari

I loved the place! The lodges are not just very beautiful you also have a amazing view on the river. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine or enjoying yourself in the bathtub or relaxing on the pool or having a massage in your room or going for a kayak tour, all of this kind of activities make your stay even more lovely. The breakfast and also the dinner is awesome. 😊 Really enjoyed the place and would love to come back some day.
