Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Beautiful, comfortable tented lodges that merge into the scenery. Food was fantastic, game drives incredible and the entire team at the property were firat rate!
What an extraordinary experience from the beautiful Tilney Lodge with its huge modern rooms and great views to the safari experience with Jordan our guide.
The lodges were beautiful and in such an idyllic setting. The staff couldn’t be friendlier and out ranger Ben was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the game drives.
This is an excellent luxury safari. The food is brilliant and the staff are amazing. We really enjoyed the game drives and saw plenty of animals, in particular, a cheetah feeding on a springbok she had just killed. Our guide, Jordan, was very knowledgeable and made sure each game drive was worthwhile. We stayed in Dwyka Lodge and the rooms were beautiful with a very private terrace which had a plunge pool
Perfect Safari experience on the private game reserve. We nearly saw all of the Big 5 and many other animals. The animals are in general very relaxed because Sanbona is a non profit organization and therefore the pressure on the animals is held on a low level with limited people and trucks. The ranger was well educated and taught us many interesting things. The tented lodge was very beautiful. Highly recommendable!
Our stay was unforgettable!! The tented lodges are beautiful, the staff are incredible, the food is amazing and the safari was the most amazing experience. We saw and learnt so much thanks to our incredible guide Ethan.
Thank you to all at Sanbona!
This was our first time in the Klein Karoo. A unique location explained by our knowledgeable and friendly guide. All the staff at the lodge were amazing. The facilities were the best of any safari we had been on. The food was excellent and plentiful and the choice of beverages very good too.
Sanbona is a private safari reserve on the scale of a small national park, and run with the dedication of a conservation project. The safari experience is amazing – in our two drives we saw giraffes, lions, elephants, rhino and more. But with our guide's enthusiasm and insight, I felt immersed into the ecosystem of the reserve rather than that I was simply looking at rare animals. The staff often went above and beyond, the family lodge was comfortable, and the food and drink very good.
