Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The location was the best of all the other times I lodged in Mammoth Lakes. Mammoth Creek Inn is situated away from the busy areas near Main Street and was quiet at night. The desk persons were very congenial and helpful. The room was very updated and appealing. The open green spaces is right next to the Inn which made for a convenient hike.
Loved the 1 bedroom chalet with private entrance, kitchen, and living space. Very cutely decorated, well-equipped, large comfortable bed, and mountain views. The main lodge was cute and the property was very nice with pool and fire pits. Also on site bar/ restaurant and Crepe Cafe (get the iced coconut matcha!) Despite other reviews, we had no problem with the Wi-Fi - I was able to get work done, watch shows, and do all my social media posting!
My cozy cottage, which served as my homebase for a week of dayhiking, was a slice of heaven. The tranquility, the views, the proximity to trails (for strolling in addition to trailheads themselves), and the lodge itself, with its lovely lakeview restaurant, offered all I could have wanted for a getaway
in the Eastern Sierra. I appreciate that the cottages retain their historic charm and are not homogenized into Marriot-style mediocrity. Bonus: the staff were exceedingly friendly, sweet, and hospitable.
Fantastic location, and the buildings suited the surrounding areas I.e. timber Lodge type. Staff were very knowledgeable about the area and were exceptional when we had an issue with the air conditioning, instantly upgrading us to a new chalet, which was beautiful.
The location is great for people going for snowboarding/sking. Eagle lodge is close by and there's a nearby shuttle stop you can take if you don't want to drive the the lodges.
Love historic hotels & lodges. Front desk and manager of restaurant were exceptional in their customer service; very helpful and accommodating in my requests. Food (and I only had appetizers) was very, very good; excellent!
A well maintained place with a decent small kitchen and all you might need for a short stay. Quiet and located a little bit away from the town center. Very similar to many small mountain town lodges I've stayed in in the past. Blazing fast internet, hot water and close to the mountain (was there to ski).
Location, location, location!!! close proximity to lodges, shuttle, food market & rental shops.
Love the rustic small lodge appeal and laid back client attitude!! staff is extremely friendly and happy to help when needed. i Have stayed at this property multiple times and will continue to do so if available when playing at Mammoth.
