Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The hosts are extraordinary - Mike has great knowledge of the area and Carla is an exceptional chef who makes everything from breakfast to desserts very memorable. The sunset views can't get any better, and every detail in the room and the rest of the place is true mountain lodge material.
We absolutely loved our stay here!! The couple who run this lodge are some of the most lovely people! They were so friendly, easy to talk to, and very welcoming/accommodating. The breakfast was made-to-order, delicious, and really filling. The room itself was comfortable and had everything you would want/need, and I really enjoyed the cozy, rustic cabin vibe.
The owners were extremely kind and personable. The mountain lodge had even more amenities than we had thought. Great rest and relaxation place with perfect access to the outdoors!
The whole experience felt very personalized - the owners truly do care about your well-being. The breakfast was wonderful and there were so many fun activities to do at the lodge! Overall, this stay was for a very good value and we would stay again :)
Hideaway Mountain Lodge is a hidden gem! The hosts are super nice folks and extremely accommodating! They have very clean facilities and go out of their way to provide for their guests! They have fresh baked cookies and coffee, tea, hot cocoa available for the guests, plus breakfast! They are also very friendly people!
The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to make their guests happy and comfortable. Definitely the best breakfasts I have ever had at a hotel/motel/lodge. They also had great cookies every afternoon.
This is an amazing lodge in the Fraser / Winter Park area, family-owned and well-serviced by the house-keeping couple Carla and Mike. Cosy rooms with much attention to details, functional but still quite individually equipped and decorated, a lodge flair where you feel at home. Fantastic breakfast!
Staff (the owners) were extremely friendly and informative. Location is in a woodsy location 40 minutes south of the Grand Lake Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. The park is one of the most scenic drives I have ever made; the lodge is an excellent starting point.
The hospitality of this lodge was very warm and Carla went above and beyond to make sure my stay was special. She had complimentary homemade cookies, a wonderful breakfast just like a bed and breakfast. The lodge is in a beautiful natural setting but just minutes from Fraser and then a few more to Winter Park. My only regret is that I could not stay longer! Carla and her Husband truly make you feel at home!
I loved the lodge. The breakfast was fantastic and the coffee was delicious. The service and warmth of the owners was excellent and the room was great. I liked the layout of the room and the bed was comfortable.
