Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The lodge itself is amazing. Great location next to the slopes - easy to walk to lifts, nice quick-grocer across the street, shuttle stop for heading into nearby towns right outside the lodge doors.
The Lodge was comfy and much better than I had expected. We LOVE not-Big Box places to stay and this one suited us perfectly. And home cooked breakfast with really good coffee was great.
Beautiful older home turned lodge. Spacious room with comfy bedding and nice bathroom. Lovely shared living space with full bar available for purchase.
Wonderfully cozy! Tiny room but absolutely clean and adequate. We were on second floor so we just stepped out our door into the upstairs living area with couches and tables and lamps - like having a condo instead of a hotel room! The huge fireplace downstairs was also wonderful.
Staff? She was GREAT! So pleasant.
Yes, this stay was very European: spare rooms, wonderful lodge-like feel, very good breakfast, very convivial atmosphere with staff and other guests! My only advice: please do not "modernize" this gem!
Breakfast - It was wonderful to have fruit every day. The different dishes were quite good. The coffee was ok - not very warm.
They were very accommodating as we made a couple of dinners in their kitchen. They also let us "hang around" on our last day so one of us could ski and the other rest in the lodge. I would recommend it.
We stayed in a lodge with our own private balcony/hot tub. It was a great room, worked well for our family of four. The rest of the space was amazing, gorgeous views. Parking is a little tough if the place is filled, but all in all amazing.
