Soda Butte Lodge, hotel in Cooke City

Featuring views of the Beartooth Mountain Range, Soda Butte Lodge is located in Cooke City, Montana, within 4 minutes' drive of the Northeast Entrance Station to Yellowstone National Park.

Although this place is not your luxury hotel, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and good pressure. The T.V in our room did not work but we weren't there to watch TV but being there in the winter time the amount of time at the hotel was more than if you are there in the summer time. The hotel does not have any amenities but if you are there for outdoor activities and just looking for a bed and a hot shower this will work. The staff were friendly although not very talkative due to language but they did try to be friendly. They did have a coffee maker that worked most mornings of our stay. The one morning it was not working we got coffee at the gas station near by. We ate at the restaurant two out of our 6 day stay and we had hamburgers and French fries and they were good. My husband appreciated the cold beer and the football games on the tv. We were able to get on WIFI at the hotel which is a bonus in that area so even if you aren't staying there you could eat at the restaurant and be able to get some internet.

After a long day in YNP we were tired and hungry and The Elkhorn Lodge was a wonderful little surprise. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfy. Lisa gave us suggestions on where to eat dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend The Elkhorn Lodge.

Beautiful scenery, breathtaking mountains. Very cozy cabin. Host was very nice and full of information about the area. It snowed during the night and he was concerned about us driving Bear Tooth Pass. Had a lovely dinner at the lodge next door. We are going to stay again in the spring.
