I adored the historical aspect to the cabins & was unaware of the link to the 1958 Thunder Road movie until I read the guest book. It tickled me that I magically picked the first cabin rented to lodgers by the first set of owners.

Excellent rating for comfortable beds, breakfast (pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, biscuits/gravy, cereals—you get the idea)and staff who go above and beyond, especially in breakfast room. My go to lodging when in Asheville!

i would have rated it 10 but we were there during the horrible cold spell at the end of December, single Fahrenheit digits and high winds, and the cabin was very cold most of the time. Under normal conditions it would have been fine. The lodge on the property stayed warm the whole time. Cabins were charming, a blast from the past when motor courts were common.

Great location for visiting Asheville. The property itself is great. doesn't feel lavish, but bordering on a posh lodge feel

this is not a resort! The lodge in bar area or very nice. However, the rooms were terribly outdated. The bathrooms were extra small and even more so outdated. It was nowhere near a resort level experience.
