Meremeta Lodge is one of the few places in Mafia Island that has air-conditioning - a must in February. The staff members are all great, and the owner (Meremeta) is very friendly, attentive, available, accommodating and helpful - nothing is too much effort for him; you can ask him anything and he will always answer "it is possible"!
Meremeta Lodge is also one of the very few places in Mafia that is owned by a local Mafian, and we recommend that you support local.
Place is located on the beach. Nice chilled atmosphere and very friendly staff. You can get all your meals through the lodge and they host multiple activities.
An amazing little island with outstanding tree house accommodation. Eco tourism at its finest. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for winding down after doing safari. Definitely worth a visit. The owner has done so much to help the locals which was lovely to see.
Great value for money! Beautiful lodge with lovely staff- meremeta was really helpful with anything we needed! It’s just a short cycle ride to the beach which is gorgeous and not touristy. Couldn’t help but be swept up in the relaxed mafia vibe!
Very nice area with lots of beautiful flowers, very clean and nice rooms and very friendly and engaged people all around and great food and service. Kivulini is a charming lodge located just minutes from the sea. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. The surroundings are a true piece of paradise. Definitely a place to enjoy the luxurious Tanzanian islands!
The resort is beautiful and very clean. The lodges are so big and spacious and everything is just beautiful. The staff is amazing and they go out of there way to help you. The beach is only a 3 minute bikeride so it has a great location.
